Dayton Power & Light

Dayton Power & Light serves over 356,000 residential customers in Ohio.  The deregulation of electricity in Ohio has changed DP&L from a full service electricity company (generation, transmission, and distribution) to just a transmission and distribution company.

DP&L is now only in the business of delivering electricity to their customers at delivery charges (distribution rates) that are regulated by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.

DP&L does not profit from the supply charges (generation) of the electricity bill.  However, they are mandated to offer default service, the price to compare, to customers who do not choose a competitive Ohio electricity supplier.  Currently there are electricity supply companies who are offering rates below the DP&L price to compare default rate. By selecting a rate lower than the price to compare rate you will see savings on your monthly DP&L electric bill
